Eloping in Utah – An Adventurer’s Dream
If you didn’t know it already, Utah is host to 43 state parks and 5 national parks – including Bryce Canyon, Zion, Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef National Park. Whether it’s your first time in the Southwest or you’ve spent years exploring the beautiful desert and landscapes, Utah is always magical, magnificent, and there’s always something new to discover. Let’s just say, it’s a couple’s dream to get married or elope in this stunning state.
As an East Coast native, flying out west during the dreary months of February and March always gave me this feeling of being reborn on a totally different planet. The rock formations, desert tumbleweed, and bluebird skies gave me such a feeling of freedom and adventure that I had always craved while growing up in New England.
Because there are over 40 state parks to choose from, eloping in Utah can give you this complete sense of freedom over your wedding day, especially if you’re a couple that loves to camp, hike, run, and explore together. Maybe you want to plan a Utah elopement to gain a new experience together, adventure somewhere you’ve never been together. Or maybe it’s already a special place in your heart and you want to bring back those memories together.
A Snow Canyon State Park Elopement
Located just north of St. George, Utah, Snow Canyon State Park is a “7,400-acre scenic park quietly tucked amid lava flows and soaring sandstone cliffs in a strikingly colorful and fragile desert environment.” It is home to some of the most diverse populations of plants and animals in the state, and hosts some of the most wondrous geological creation of millions of year-old sand dunes and canyons.
For Chelzea and John – they are an amazing couple that hikes, does crossfit, and travels together – this styled Utah elopement couldn’t have been a better fit for their love of the outdoors.
Chelsea and John got ready together at their Airbnb nestled in St. George before we hit the road for the grand adventure of the day. I absolutely loved all the little details and essentials that brought this day to life – the hiking boots, state park map, compass, ring boxes, and of course a few refreshments from Breckenridge Brewery (plus lots of water to stay hydrated!)
When we arrived at the park, I soon discovered Snow Canyon was even more diverse than I could have ever imagined. From the red canyons to the white sandstone, a champagne pop on top of the rocks overlooking the park, and the most epic sunset – this styled Utah elopement was a complete dream.
